His basic salary is (5000) Riyals, housing allowance is (4000) Riyals, phone allowance is (1000) Riyals and the transportation allowance is (1000) Riyals per month. The date of work commencement was 01/01/2011.How the due contributions are calculated for this month ?

  1. Salary subject to the contribution is:

Salary = 5000 Riyals of the basic salary.

  2. Contributions of (15%) of the salary that is divided to the employer and the employees:

    • The employer's share = (5000 Riyals) × (9%) = 450 Riyals.
    • The employee’s share = (5000 Riyals) × (6%) = 300 Riyals.
    • Allowances=housing allowance+ phone allowance+ transportation allowance
    • Total allowances=4000 Riyals + 1000 Riyals + 1000 Riyals= 6000 Riyals
    • Due to allowances shall not exceed 100% of the basic salary, the contribution allowances =5000
    • Employee’s share = (5000 Riyals) × (15%) = 750Riyals.
    • Total employee’s share= 300Riyals +750 Riyals=1050 Riyals
  3. Total contributions (15%):

    Total contribution per month=the employer's share +employee’s/ worker’s share

450+ 1050= 1500 Riyals, the employer deposits the due contribution in the account of the Social Insurance Organization of Kingdom of Bahrain( Insurance), in the State of Qatar, not later than the fifth day of the following month of the due contributions.
